Popular Summaries, Research Stock-takes, published papers, unpublished material and other Northland agriculture resources are archived here, and searchable.
What we have here today is:
- The Northland Agricultural Research Library database that can be downloaded in Excel format.
- The Northland Pasture Growth Rate database – this is contained in a downloadable Excel spreadsheet. These pasture growth rates can be sorted by parameters such as pasture species, soil fertility and farm type to produce summary data that can be used in feed budgeting.
- Research Stock-takes which are 1 – 2 page summaries of past research papers and intended for a relatively high level of technical awareness. The Research Stock-takes were peer reviewed by independent experts.
- Popular Summaries are easy to read summaries of the key points from the Research Stock-takes. Northland journalist Hugh Stringleman pulled these summaries together. They are intended for use by farmers and rural professionals.
The original Northland Agricultural Research Library came about through a Sustainable Farming Fund Project completed in 2008, and apart from the database above, the project also included the production of 15 Research Stock-takes and 18 Popular Summaries which can be viewed and downloaded here.
We are steadily populating the web-based Research Library with all the material that we can reproduce within the bounds of copyright. It will take a little while….
